REGULATION 2024

ARTICLE 1. GENERALITIES

The Ocean Lava Tenerife is a triathlon event with two modalities Olympic and Middle Distance. It is organized by K3 Servicios Deportivos Integrales SL, with the collaboration of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, the Cabildo of Tenerife, the Government of the Canary Islands and different private entities.

The test is sanctioned by the Canarian Triathlon Federation.

ARTICLE 2. EVENT DEVELOPMENT DATES

The date of the event will be March 17, 2024.

ARTICLE 3: SPORTS BEHAVIOR AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The Ocean Lava Tenerife is celebrated with absolute respect for the environment. Although, for safety reasons, the race will be held on a circuit closed to traffic, participants will respect road rules in towns and public roads. Participants who present paramilitary attitudes, advocate terrorism, show violent or xenophobic attitudes, or throw garbage in nature will be disqualified from the competition.

ARTICLE 4: REGISTRATION, CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES OF OWNERSHIP

INSCRIPTION

Only registrations made through the website will be accepted. www.oceanlavatenerife.com

Each participant must correctly fill out their personal data, since these will be checked by the organization during the withdrawal of numbers.

The registration period will be from January 1, 2024 at 12:00 to March 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m., or until places are sold out. The prices are as shown below:

OLYMPIC

  • From 01/01/24 to 01/13/24 (€65)
  • From 01/14/24 to 03/11/24 (€85) (+€1.03 management fees)

MIDDLE DISTANCE

  • From 01/01/24 to 01/13/24 (€170)
  • From 01/14/24 to 03/11/24 (€190) (+€1.55 management fees)
  1. CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION

    People registered for the Ocean Lava Tenerife in 2024 will have two options to cancel their registration:

    1. CONTRACTING RETURN INSURANCE.

      The test will have return insurance with a cost of: OLYMPIC: €20

      HALF DISTANCE: €40

      This insurance includes the refund of the registration (except the amount of the insurance and the contracted services). In the event that the event is canceled due to a health alert decree or if the participant is affected by a health alert both in the country of origin and in Spain, the organization will return the full amount of the registration (except the amount of the insurance and contracted services) until the date of the race.

      The refund will also be effective up to 30 days before the race (except the amount of insurance and contracted services) given the following cases duly justified via email info@oceanlavaTenerife.com:

      • A serious injury or illness, accident, or death of those participating, their spouse or partner, or their first-degree ascendants/descendants.

      • A serious illness that requires hospitalization or the death of your spouse or partner or your first-degree ascendants or descendants up to thirty days before the event.

    2. WITHOUT CONTRACTING RETURN INSURANCE.

The registered person who does not contract the refund insurance at the time of registration may have a refund of a percentage of the registration amount (not counting the contracted services) based on the following dates:

– Until February 1, 2024: Refund of 40% of the registration.

After February 1, 2024, the race organization will under no circumstances refund the registration fee to those participants who have not contracted refund insurance.

4.3 CHANGES OF OWNERSHIP.

They will be allowed up to 30 days before the race. Registered people who want to transfer their number to another person must communicate it in a timely manner via email. info@oceanlavatenerife.com. This procedure will cost €10.

ARTICLE 5: PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

    1. GENERALITIES

      In general, all participants of the Ocean Lava Tenerife must:

      • Be of legal age.

      • Know and accept the conditions of this Regulation.

      • Complete all registration steps correctly.

    2. DISCLAIMER

      All participants registered in the Ocean Lava Tenerife voluntarily declare, upon registration, that:

      • You are in perfect physical condition to take the test.

      • Participate in the competition voluntarily and under your responsibility.

      • Exempts from any responsibility the organizing team, clubs, competition committee, those responsible for the test refereeing, volunteers, and other personnel who participate in one way or another in the organization of the test, for physical or material damage that may occur before, during or after the Competition.

      • They accept, at the time of registration, the text of the disclaimer document.

      • All participants, by taking part in the event, responsibly accept that they are in adequate health situations, and are obliged to communicate any changes to the organization.

    3. MEDICAL CERTIFICATE

      It is not necessary to present a medical certificate to carry out the Ocean Lava Tenerife.

      All participating persons declare that they are in perfect physical condition and take responsibility for this, and exempt the organization from any responsibility, at the time of registration and taking part in the event.

    4. ACCIDENT INSURANCE

All participants of the Ocean Lava – Tenerife must have accident insurance in accordance with the R.D. 849/1993.

Accident insurance (Federal License – Insurance for one day)

To be able to participate in the Ocean Lava Santa Cruz – Tenerife, all athletes must be covered by accident insurance in one of its two permitted modalities:

1st Federal License accident insurance under the protection of the Spanish Triathlon Federation (Spanish Triathlon Federation or any of its Autonomous Federations)

2nd Insurance for 1 day processed by the organization (price of €10)

Any other insurance other than any of the previous two is not valid.

ARTICLE 6. IMAGE RIGHTS, ADVERTISING AND DATA PROTECTION.

    1. IMAGE RIGHTS

      The organizing entity reserves exclusively the right to the image of Ocean Lava Tenerife, as well as the audiovisual, photographic and journalistic exploitation of the competition or for research purposes. Any media or advertising project must previously have the express written consent of the organization. Otherwise, any legal actions deemed appropriate will be taken.

    2. ADVERTISING

      It will be mandatory for participants to use and place in the indicated space the advertising material provided by the organization. Modifying, folding or hiding advertising material will be penalized. In addition, it will be the responsibility of the participants to maintain said material.

    3. DATA PROTECTION

In accordance with Organic Law 15/1999, we inform you that your data will be incorporated into a data file under the responsibility of K3 SERVICIOS DEPORTIVOS INTEGRALES S. L. to comply with the commitments that arise from the relationship we maintain with you as a participant.

By registering for the Ocean Lava Tenerife, participants give their consent for the event organization to automatically process their personal data for sporting, promotional or commercial purposes.

As established by Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights, registered persons have the right to access these files with the aim of rectifying or canceling their content in whole or in part. . For these purposes, a request must be made in writing to the following address: info@oceanlavatenerife.com.

Likewise, registered people expressly cede to the organization the right to reproduce their name and surname, their classification obtained, the category and their image.

Unless you inform us otherwise, we will understand that your data has not been modified and that you agree to notify us of any changes to it and that we have your consent for its processing.

SECTION 7. REMOVAL OF DORSALS AND CLOTHERS

    1. USE OF CHIP AND BIB

      The use of a chip and bib given by the organization to those who participate is mandatory throughout the event, except in the swimming segment, in which identification will be by other means. The number must be placed on the person participating visibly at all times. It may not be folded or cut. Tampering with or transferring the number may be grounds for immediate penalty or disqualification.

    2. DEPARTURE WARDROBE

      Participants who wish to do so may keep a bag that they can deliver with their personal items up to 30 minutes before departure at the place indicated by the organization for this purpose. The delivery and collection time of these bags will be established in the race program.

      ARTICLE 8. PROVISIONS

      Refreshment points are points established by the organization to stock up on liquids, solids or both.

      ARTICLE 9. ABANDONMENTS

      Withdrawals for reasons other than accidents or injuries that prevent the athlete from moving under their own power must be made at the Aid Stations. If, due to an accident or injury, the person participating is immobilized and cannot reach a refreshment station, the rescue operation will be activated by contacting the organization by telephone using the Emergency Mobile Telephone provided for this purpose.

      Those who participate may withdraw from the test whenever they wish, but they must do so in accordance with the following points:

      1. You will leave at an aid station and hand over your number.

      2. The participant assumes all responsibility from the moment they voluntarily leave the test and may leave the area on their own.

      3. If the participant wishes, the organization will facilitate the evacuation to the finish area of ​​the person who has decided to abandon after the checkpoint of the supply station where they are located has closed.

ARTICLE 10. REGULATIONS, SAFETY RULES AND GENERAL BEHAVIOR

  • Every participating person has the duty to provide help to another participant who is in danger or injured, and is obliged to report it to the nearest control or emergency telephone number immediately. Deprivation of assistance may be penalized with immediate disqualification.

  • It is the obligation of each participant to carry with them any waste they generate: packaging, paper, organic waste, etc., to the places marked and enabled by the organization.

  • The food carried by the participant must be marked with the bib number.

  • Every participating person must follow the route marked by the organization. Failure to respect it or not go through any of the established controls will be cause for a penalty that will be determined by the race stewards and which may range from a warning to total disqualification, depending on the case.

  • Participants must follow, at all times and throughout the entire tour, the instructions of the members of the organization.

  • People who compete must behave in a sporting manner at all times and show respect for other athletes, commissar staff and other members of the organization. In addition, they must be careful with the facilities set up for testing.

  • The competition is governed, in aspects not included in this document, by the regulations of the Spanish Triathlon Federation.

      2nd overall male and female: €100 + trophy + Registration Ocean lava Lanzarote Olympic distance

      3rd overall male and female: €50 + trophy + Registration Ocean lava Lanzarote Olympic distance

      First male and female in the following categories: Trophy

      – Junior (18 and 19 years old)

      – GGEE 20-24

      – GGEE 25-29

      – GGEE 30-34

      – GGEE 35-39

      – GGEE 40-44

      – GGEE 45-49

ARTICLE 12. SCHEDULES, TRANSITION AREA AND ROUTES

    1. SCHEDULES

      Friday, March 15, 2024 DELIVERY OF BIBS – 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. (location to be determined).

      Saturday March 16, 2024 DELIVERY OF BIBS – 11:00-14:00 and 17:00-20:00

      (location to be determined).

    2. TRANSITION ZONE

      • To access the transition area, you must present a one-day license (contracted at the time of registration) or valid triathlon ID. At the entrance to this area, those responsible for the refereeing of the event will carry out the control, especially of the bicycle and the protective material.

      • Equipment must be placed in the designated bike corral and assigned bike rack.

      • Only the equipment used for the competition can be left in the transition area, all used equipment must be deposited in the box provided by the organization, other belongings must be removed before the start of the race. The organization will make a cloakroom available so that participants can store their belongings.

      • Bicycle equipment such as shoes, glasses, helmet, bottles, supplements, etc. They can be placed on the bicycle.

      • It is prohibited to carry any glass containers within the transition zone.

    3. OLYMPIC AND HALF MODALITIES TOURS

      GENERALITIES

      The regulations that govern the regulations of the Spanish Triathlon Federation for the 2024 season will apply.

      1. SWIMMING TOUR

        OLYMPIC SWIMMING DISTANCE COURSE DESCRIPTION

        Departure from and arrival at the coast of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. A distance of 1500 meters will be carried out in a single lap circuit.

        DESCRIPTION COURSE HALF SWIMMING DISTANCE

        Departure from and arrival at the large beach of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. A distance of 1900 meters will be carried out in a single lap circuit.

        There will be liquid supplies (water only) in the bicycle transition area for all distances.

        SWIMMING CUT TIMES

        OLYMPIC – 01:15 hours

        HALF – 01:30 hours

      2. CYCLING TOUR

        DESCRIPTION COURSE OLYMPIC DISTANCE CYCLING

        The bicycle circuit will be communicated once proposed by the organization and approved by the competent authorities.

        DESCRIPTION ROUTE HALF DISTANCE CYCLING

        The bicycle circuit will be communicated once proposed by the organization and approved by the competent authorities.

        CYCLING CUT TIMES

        OLYMPIC – 02:00 hours

        HALF – 04:10 hours

      3. WALKING RACE TOUR

        DESCRIPTION COURSE OLYMPIC DISTANCE FOOT RACE

        The circuit will be communicated once proposed by the organization and approved by the competent authorities.

        DESCRIPTION COURSE HALF DISTANCE WALKING RACE

        The circuit will be communicated once proposed by the organization and approved by the competent authorities.

        CUTTING TIMES WALKING RACE

        OLYMPIC – 1:30

        HALF – 3:00

    4. BRIEFING

A technical meeting will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 with the characteristics of the different modalities. The place and time of said technical meeting will be announced by the organization's usual media.

ARTICLE 13. CLAIMS.

All claims will be accepted upon payment of a deposit of €30. This deposit will only be refunded if the organization considers that the complaint is justified. Claims will be made in writing and must comply with a minimum type of format, which must include the following:

  • Name and surname of the person who carried it out.

  • DAYS.

  • Name and surname of the affected athlete.

  • Dorsal Number

  • Alleged facts.

Claims regarding provisional classifications may be submitted up to 30 minutes after the finish line of the modality in question.

ARTICLE 14. SUSPENSION OR CANCELLATION OF THE TEST

The organization reserves the right to suspend or cancel the test due to force majeure, under the prescription of the competent authorities and/or adverse meteorological phenomena. In this case, the registration fee will not be refunded nor will the participants' expenses be covered.

Likewise, the people responsible for the direction of the race may suspend, shorten, modify, neutralize or stop the race for safety or force majeure reasons beyond their control and not attributable to the organization (climatology, adverse situations at sea, alerts decreed by authorities, etc.).

ARTICLE 15. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS OF THE REGULATION

The formalization of registration at Ocean Lava Tenerife implies acceptance of the provisions contained in these regulations. This regulation can be corrected, modified or improved at any time by the organization, as well as any data, rule or section for optimal performance of the test. The fact of registering shows the participant's agreement with these regulations.

ARTICLE 16. WAIVER OF LIABILITY

  • The Ocean Lava Tenerife organization declines all responsibility for damage, breakage, loss or theft of any type of material used for the race.

  • No refunds will be made of the amount paid in the event of cancellation, alteration, modification or deletion of the published schedules due to force majeure or other exceptional circumstances.

  • Ocean Lava Tenerife reserves the right to modify or make changes without prior notice.

  • Ocean Lava Tenerife reserves the right of admission.

ANNEX I. DISCLAIMER

  1. I know and fully accept the Regulations, published on the website www.oceanlavatenerife.com.

  2. I participate voluntarily and solely under my own responsibility in this sporting event. For this reason, I exempt the Organization, the collaborators, the sponsoring entities or other participating people from any responsibility and I agree not to report them in the event of any physical or material damage. Likewise, for security reasons and only in the event that the Race Organization deems it appropriate, I undertake to install a geolocation application on my mobile device during the course of the race to know the exact location of my location.

  3. I am a physical and mental person sufficiently prepared to carry out this sports competition, without suffering from an illness, physical defect or injury that prevents my participation in this test or that could be aggravated as a consequence of holding it.

  4. I undertake to maintain responsible behavior that does not increase the risks to my physical or mental integrity, so if during the test I suffer any type of injury or any other circumstance that could harm my health, I will immediately contact the Organization.

  5. I am aware of the additional risk that comes with the fact that this sporting competition takes place outdoors. Therefore, I attend of my own free will and initiative, fully assuming the risks and consequences derived from my participation.

  6. I accept with my participation that, in the event of any eventuality, medical assistance may take time to reach the point where it is located, since the route is closed to traffic and includes areas that are difficult to access for rescue vehicles. These conditions make the operation of medical assistance teams difficult.

  7. I undertake to follow the general guidelines for respect for the environment included in the official regulations of this test.

  8. I have all the sports equipment required by the Organization, while I guarantee that it is in good condition. I know how to use it properly and I will carry it throughout the entire course, regardless of the type of competition in which I participate.

  9. Likewise, I admit that I am the only person responsible for my possessions and sports equipment during the development of the test, as well as its parallel activities.

  10. I will follow all instructions and abide by all decisions of the people responsible for the Organization (referee officials, health personnel, etc.) related to the safety and organizational aspects of the event.

  11. I authorize the race's health services to perform any diagnostic tests that I may need. Likewise, I undertake to abandon the competition at the same time that said health services deem it necessary for the good of my physical integrity.

  12. I accept that the sporting measures set out above are understood without prejudice to other responsibilities that may be assumed before the competent authorities as a consequence of conduct or behavior of non-observance or non-compliance with the orders and instructions that are applicable, either in the sports field, as well as in other different fields.

  13. I authorize the free use of my personal data and any image of me by both the Race Organization and insurance companies, sponsors and collaborators obtained during my registration and participation in the test, on any medium, for purposes of logistics, journalism or promotion of the event, in the media, websites or social networks.

  14. I know that the organizing entity reserves the right to admit or not admit any participant, even having paid the subscription fees, which would NOT be returned to me if not admitted.

  15. Be responsible for any type of injury and damage that may be caused, both to myself and to third parties, due to failure to comply with what is indicated in this declaration.
